Forging
It is one of the two main components of forging (forging and stamping), which uses forging machine to exert pressure on metal billet to produce plastic deformation so as to obtain a certain mechanical property, shape and size of forging. Through forging, the defects such as loose casting state can be eliminated, the microstructure can be optimized, due to the preservation of a complete metal streamline, the mechanical properties of forgings are generally better than those of castings.Mechanical load is high, severe working conditions used in the parts, in addition to the shape of the simple available rolled plate, profile or welding parts, the use of forgings.

Production process:
Forging process is generally composed of the following procedures, namely select high-quality billet, heating, forming, cooling after forging.The forging process includes open-die forging,close-die forging.In the production, according to the size of the forging quality, the number of production batches to choose different forging methods.
Open-die forging is low productivity, large processing allowance, but the tool is simple, versatility, so it is widely used for forging simple shape of a single piece, small batch production of forgings. Open-die forging equipment has air hammer, steam-air hammer and hydraulic press, respectively suitable for the production of small, medium and large forgings.Close-die forging high productivity, simple operation, easy to achieve mechanization and automation.The precision of close-die forging is high, the allowance of machining is small, the distribution of fiber structure of forging is more reasonable, which can improve the service life of parts.
1、Basic process of Open-die forging: in free forging, the shape of the forging is formed by forging the blank gradually through some basic deformation process.The basic processes of free forging include upsetting, drawing, punching, bending and cutting.
.Upsetting is the process of forging the blank along the axis to reduce its height and increase its cross section.This process is often used to forge gear billets and other disc-shaped forgings.Upsetting can be divided into two categories: overall upsetting and local upsetting.
.Drawing out is a forging process that increases the length of the blank and reduces the section. It is usually used to produce the blanks of shaft parts, such as lathe spindle and connecting rod.
.Forging in which a punch is punched through or through a hole in the blank.
.A forging process in which the blank is bent to an Angle or shape.
.A forging process in which one part of the billet is rotated at an Angle to another.
.The forging process of cutting and dividing the billet or cutting off the head.
2、Close-die forging
Close-die forging is formed by placing the heated blank in a die fixed to the die forging equipment
.Basic process of close-die forging: blanking, heating, preforging, final forging, blanking, trimming, tempering and tempering, shot peening.Common processes are upsetting, drawing, bending, punching, forming.
.Common die forging equipment includes die forging hammer, hot die forging press, flat forging press and friction press.Tell colloquially, forging flange quality is better, it is to through close-die forging production, crystal structure is close, intensity is high, of course the price also is a few more expensive.Whether the casting flange or forging flange is a common method of flange manufacturing, According to use the strength of the parts, if the requirements are not high, can also choose to machined the flange.
